This week, IFISA President Mikkel Liebman Drescher and Vice President Oliver Wessollek represented FISOs at the 6th meeting of the Commission Expert Group on the Human Dimension (CEGHD), held at the EASA Brussels Office on 16–17 September 2025.
Over two days, we engaged in high-level discussions with the European Commission, EASA, Human Factors experts, and ATM/ANS professional organisations on critical topics for the future of aviation, including:
- Human-centric automation & AI in ATM
- Staffing, fatigue & well-being
- Civil-military coordination
Together with ATCEUC — representing 34 professional unions of FISOs, ATCOs and ATSEPs — across Europe, IFISA continues to advocate for a strong, unified voice for all ATM professionals. Our joint commitment is clear: the human element must remain at the heart of safety and system performance.
